A fanwriter is someone who produces fan fiction, which is created by fans of a particular fictional universe, such as is found in books, movies, video games, or television shows. Fan writers create original stories using the characters and settings from these works, often with the goal of exploring potential continuations or expanding upon the storylines in these fictional works, while usually avoiding commercial publication that would require royalties from the original creators.
