Micella Definition

A micelle is a spherical aggregate of surfactant molecules in a solution (usually water) with the hydrophobic parts of the surfactant away from the water and in the interior of the sphere and the hydrophilic parts on the surface and in contact with the water. Micelles are of interest in biology and chemistry due to their ability to solubilize hydrophobic substances in aqueous media.
