jaghatai Definition

The language or variety of language formed from the dialects spoken in parts of Central Asia, especially in what are now Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. It is based on the eastern dialects of Chagatai, a Turkic language, and was used as a literary language during the medieval period.
