An anthropological practice where the skin is preserved from a human or animal head, typically by drying after removal of the flesh and internal organs, as a trophy or grisly souvenir. It is also known as head shrinking, and is associated with certain ethnic groups in Africa, particularly in areas of southern and eastern Africa.
